Membership Information/Application
Information
Opposition players, officials and their supporters are welcome to use all the OWA facilities on match days without charge. Please note that only people over the age of 18 may purchase alcoholic drinks and ID may be required.
However, to play sport for any of the OW teams, it is mandatory to become a subscribing member of the OWA. Local supporters and all alumni of Whitgift School are strongly encouraged to join the OWA.
Membership provides the following benefits:
1. Eligibility to apply for a Swipe Card, which when credited with funds by cash or debit card, entitles the holder to a discount of 7½% on all purchases at the bars. This card will be suspended if the member's subscription is more than 2 months overdue.
2. Fully paid-up members are also entitled to a 10% discount on hire charges. See "Hire" section of this website for standard rates.
3. To receive the annual OWA Report and Acounts by e-mail in May/June each year.
4. To receive the bi-monthly club newsletter by e-mail in January, March, May, July, September and November each year.
5. To receive the annual alumni newsletter (although targeted at Old Whitgiftians, non-OWs will likely find this of interest too).
6. To receive invitations by e-mail for open events.
7. To receive invitations by e-mail for targeted events.
Application
To join the OWA, please click on each of the following steps in turn:
1. View/download/print the current subscription rates.
2. Print and complete a membership application form.
3. Print and complete a direct debit form.
The completed forms should be posted to OWA Clubhouse, Croham Manor Road, South Croydon, CR2 7BG. It is not possible for these forms to be returned by e-mail, online or by fax, as they both require original signatures.
Please Note
Membership of any Sports Club requires that the Subscription should be paid on the due date. Where this is not received by 1st November (or 1st July for Cricket) the individual's membership will be suspended and he/she shall cease to participate in any of the rights of membership accruing from that subscription. Any member who has paid only a part of a subscription due from him shall be entitled to such reduced rights as the Committee may determine. It is simply not fair on the members who do pay on time for them to subsidise those who do not. The Direct Debit system is an easy and affordable way to pay a Subscription. Please use it.
