Many functions can be hosted at the OWA Clubhouse and Playing Fields, including Corporate Events, Conferences, Rotary meetings, Christenings, Weddings, Funerals, Celebration Lunches or Dinners and Birthday Parties for young and old alike. Alternatively, we can help arrange your own company or private sporting event.

Less than five minutes drive from the Town Centre, the Old Whitgiftian Club offers an excellent entertaining, conference and sporting facility in tranquil surroundings, with extensive parking on-site and in the surrounding quiet residential roads. A popular attraction is the fact that the clubhouse is licensed to sell alcoholic drinks to over 18s (ID may be required) until midnight.

The Brodie Room

The perfect venue for a formal lunch or dinner for up to 120 people (150 for a buffet style reception), the Brodie Room has the benefit of a separate and extensive private bar.

For company meetings or for conferences using theatre style seating, up to 100 delegates can be accommodated. A pre-wired PA system is available together with a large screen projection facility compatible with Microsoft Powerpoint, 35mm or OHP slide or video presentations.

Wedding Receptions

The Brodie Room also offers the ideal location for a Wedding Reception with views across the tranquil grounds providing the perfect backdrop for photographs.

We would be pleased to provide a quotation based on your specific requirements which we feel sure will offer excellent value.

The Marlar Room

This elegant facility is ideal for a smaller meeting or reception of between 20-30 people.

Sporting Facilities

For Corporate Days, our cricket, football and rugby pitches are available for hire together with the associated bar and catering facilities. If you wish to arrange your own Team Building Competition or "It's A Knockout", followed by lunch or dinner, that can be accommodated too.

For larger numbers we are able to arrange a marquee to be erected in the grounds with all ancilliary equipment e.g. seating, lighting, catering and bar.

The Ellis Room

If you are staging a sporting event, the Ellis Room, again with its own bar, is the ideal place from which to watch the action. This light and airy room is also suitable for small private parties, dinners or conferences.

The Old Whitgiftian Association can provide an excellent catering service through our resident caterer Mr Richard Woodall. Mr Woodall can offer a wide range of menus to suit most occasions and budgets. If you have an idea for a 'themed' event, then he will be pleased to provide advice. We are sorry, but we do not allow self-catering functions at the OWA.
